5 Wonderful Small Businesses!

I thought, as it’s Tuesday – and who doesn’t need cheering up on a Tuesday? – that I’d share with you some of the wonderful hand-made, and independent, businesses I’ve come across since opening my own shop last year. Have a read, have a browse of their pages, and do a spot of shopping!

1) Cupcakes For Clara

Cupcakes For Clara provides whimsical goodies, including adorable paper dolls, stationery, sewing kits, and toys. The business is based around the character of a ‘grumpy little lady’ called Clara, and her slightly more sweet-natured friend Macy. Having recently branched out to the online ‘Not On The High Street‘ the business is growing day by day!

2) Kooky Burrow

Kooky Burrow is a family run business situated in Macclesfield, down the cobbled Church Street, and ‘offers a warm, friendly atmosphere to browse and shop.’ It sells a quirky variety of goods, ranging from records and homeware, to kitsch jewellery, even stocking some of Goodnight Boutique’s very own earrings and necklaces, and regularly takes part in Maccelsfield’s Treacle Market, held on the last Sunday of each month.

3) Charms & Chains

Charms & Chains is a Stoke-On-Trent based, vintage-style accessories shop, which prides itself on being full of ‘swallow bird necklaces, owl earrings, floral print scarves, and much, much, more!‘ Many items are handcrafted and uniquely designed. The shop has just moved to new premises on Town Road, Hanley, Stoke-On-Trent!

4) Just Jane Candles

Just Jane Candles can be found all the way on the other side of the world, in Perth, Australia, and offers hand-poured, soy-wax candles that are ‘exquisitely fragranced, uncoloured and tastefully packaged.’
Alongside selling at local markets and events, the business offers limited edition items which you can find out about via their website!

5) The Black Emporium

The Black Emporium is a delightful jewellery shop – based on Etsy – and describes itself as  the ‘purveyors of trinkets and fripperies, curios and accoutrements, trifles and baubles.’
Alongside jewellery, it also offers lace collars, and some fabulous Sherlock Holmes themed Christmas decorations, just in time for the upcoming festive season.
